I went through both 11g New Features books : Sam Alapati and Robert Freeman. A few times ! I also used SelfTestSoftware's test suite a number of times.
Just came across your blog. I am planning to upgrade from 9i OCP to 11g OCP (1Z0-055). Oracle has the course (ILT) but no self-paced study materials. They have for Oracle 11g New features which is a bit different to 1Z0-055 syllabus.
There is a book but not readily available in the market.
Since I am OCP-DBA 9i do I need to do any Oracle training as pre-requirements for certification exam?
Sid, The 11g New Features books cover new features from 10g to 11g. However, the 9i to 11g upgrade exam spans the two versions. So you need to be aware of and comfortable with 10g. Then you can read the 11g New Features books to prepare. That is how I did it.
I am certified in Oracle OCP 9i. As you said, Do these books Only, OCP Oracle Database 11g: New Features for Administrators Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-050) by Sam R Alapati and Oracle Database 11g New Features by Robert Freeman help me out to crack the 1Z0-055 exam(Oracle database 11g new features for 9i OCP's) though i am comfortable and aware of 10g version. Please can you provide me few suggestions and tricks as i am unable to get official oracle study guide for this online in any resource.

What study materials did you use? I am not 10g OCP as well and would consider 11g OCP.

I am not aware of a "study guide" for the 9i to 11g upgrade.
However, www.ucertify.com does have an online/offline module.
